Amazon, Facebook replacing banks for payments?

Most of our interaction with banks is to pay organisations and individuals and check we get paid. 

Legislation and technology taking away the banks monopoly and without that they lose the data necessary to feed AI apps and tailor new products for us consumers.

No wonder banks are worried

In 2018 the banks will concede customer mindshare to the GAFAMs (Google, Apple, Facebook, Amazon, Microsoft) and the BATs (Baidu, Alipay, Tencent). The proof? Take a look at the trajectories of Paym in the UK and Venmo in the US. Non-banks are simply better at this than banks are.
